3rd Birthday Balloon Wreath

When I saw a birthday wreath over at In Between Laundry, 

I decided I had to make one (sort of like it) for Henry's birthday today!

I plan to use this wreath over and over again for upcoming birthdays 

and switch out the numbers for each kid.

I modified the wreath (obviously) to use what I had on hand.

Here's what Henry and I did to make the

3rd Birthday Balloon Wreath:

I cut a wreath shape out of cardboard

and a Number 3.

I set out our materials:

Wreath:

Balloons

Cupcake Liners

Stapler

Ribbon

Number 3:

Green Paint
Sponge

Glue

Child's Scissors

Green Yarn

Green Crinkle Paper

Green Tissue Paper

Green Buttons

Henry decorated the 3.

I decorated the wreath.

Henry started by painting the 3 completely green.

He added glue to the painted 3.

Henry worked on his cutting skills 

and cut up small pieces of green paper. 

Added the assortment of decorations listed above.

 And wrapped yarn around it.

Henry's number 3.

In addition to just swapping out the numbers,

I'd love for this to be a tradition for me and the kids every year. 

To make the wreath just theirs for their birthday, together.

I made the wreath myself.

[my ME project from last month, just had to wait for Henry's birthday to post it.]

I simply tied off the balloons like you would normally do after you blow them up.

And stapled them to the cardboard wreath.

I twisted the cupcake liners in the middle to make some sort of flower 

and also stapled them on.

I kept adding and adding until it became full enough.

I hung it with a ribbon 

and simply stapled that onto both the wreath and the 3 to connect them.

Ta-Da!
