"Make it Kid Friendly" Idea: Geometric Garland

I found this colorful garland of shapes on Pinterest.

So colorful and bright, I thought this could be turned into a kid project!

Visit Weekday Carnival to buy this gorgeous geometric garland!

I'm not sure what these are made of, or how they're made, but I can think of a few ways to do this with the kids, and even add some learning into the process!

What can be done to make it a kid-friendly activity:

Toddler Activity : Fine Motor Skills with Pom Poms

Toddler play with pom poms!

Grabbing, pinching and poking at these little items are great for fine motor development!

Collaborative Heart Project Fundraiser

I am putting together a collaborative fundraiser between bloggers. This is a heart project because all proceeds from this fundraiser are going towards the American Heart Association [AHA].

If you are a blogger and would like to participate, please read through the details below and email me with your interest at handsonaswegrow(at)gmail.com.

This is Valentine's season, so there's a lot of heart project floating around! And will also be a great time to sell this eBook of Heart Projects! Read on for more details!

What is the collaborative project:

To create a collaborative eBook/physical book of our kids' art and crafts projects that are related to 'hearts'.

No snow? Make it!

My Oatmeal kisses creates snow two ways! First with diapers [yes, diapers] and then with powdered sugar and marshmallows! I'm seriously so excited about these ideas!

Have some fun with a snowball fight!

Above, from left to right:

A salty snowman piece of art at Dinosaurs and Octopuses. All you pretty much need it glue and salt!
A small world sensory bin of wintery items found at Criss-Cross Applesauce [by the way, I absolutely love that name]. Just the look of the bin gives me chills!
Oakley Childcare makes a chilly looking snowman from paper plates! The scarf and hat are so adorable!
Cloud dough for a snow sensory day. Rainy Day Mum adds pipe cleaners, googly eyes and much more to the cloud dough for some snowmen play!
